Our service team do enjoy talking to people all day long, but to save you some time and effort we have listed some of the most commonly asked questions with answers below:
When could I use NLP?
It may be easier to answer “when could I not use NLP?”, because NLP offers anyone the ability to influence thinking, behaviour and performance in themselves and others. Whilst attending the NLP Foundation course you will begin to contemplate the endless possibilities.
Is NLP new?
NLP has been around since the mid 1970’s, however, NLP is simply a label of what we have been doing naturally for many years. The way we think and what impact that has on our behaviour hasn’t changed a great deal! Learning can be ‘understanding what you already know instinctively’.
Do I need any previous qualifications?
Our students range from business executives, doctors, retail staff, sports coaches, parents and a great deal more of different backgrounds. No special qualifications are required, once you have grasped pure NLP we will help to show you how to use it in any context applicable to you.
Is all this ‘manipulation’ ethical?
As Spiderman’s uncle once said, “with great power comes great responsibility!” We will teach you powerful, simple and highly adaptable tools - we take ethics very seriously and insist NLP is only used with a positive intention.
How can you be so impressively affordable?
We simply believe in offering outstanding quality yet offering a highly competitive price, we have lowered the profit margins in order to lead the market.
Why don’t you send preparation CDs beforehand?
There is an old ritual within the NLP training world that students ‘must’ sit through a previously recorded course to ‘grasp’ the methods theoretically before attending a course. We have experienced this first hand and we feel it is more effective to deliver new concepts live in person, with interaction and get it right first time.
Where do you run your courses?
Our excellent training venue is in Central London (did we mention it even has a swimming pool and is 2 minutes walk from an underground station). Due to demand we have more NLP courses arriving soon located outside of London, we are also planning some international courses.
Can I work for The Brain People?
James keeps a keen eye open for pure talent! We will soon be launching some additional courses, outside the realm of NLP, get in touch if you have something to offer.
Can I also pay by cheque or over phone?
Of course, you can pay in anyway you wish (with buttons if our bank manager accepted them). Simply drop us a call and we can take your card payment over the phone if you prefer, or send your cheque to the address shown at the bottom of this screen (if sending cheque please also drop us an email using the ‘online enquiry form’ so we keep an eye out for it).
Which NLP books do you recommend I read?
Yes, there are stacks of top quality books on the market (and also a few stinkers which remain ‘top sellers’ which we dont quite fully understand). Anything by Grinder or Bandler is worth a look, we can discuss this more on your course, as we love reading.
My boss says NLP is dangerous at work, why?
We think NLP and Hypnosis is misunderstood by the masses, who base their understanding on how the media portrays these wonderful and powerful subjects. We are sure if your line manager watches Derren Brown, remembers the Paul Mckenna entertainment show and has ‘Mesmero Man’ on video they may not be keen on sending you on an NLP course! We say… educate them.
How do I become an NLP ITA Trainer?
We currently offer NLP Practitioner and NLP Master Practitioner Certifications, we can also recommend how to gain Trainer accreditation once you have completed your intial training. We help people like you reach NLP Master Practitioner level, without spending a fortune.
Can NLP really be ‘that’ powerful?
Yes it can. We welcome you to come and witness people’s beliefs changing rapidly, phobias cured in minutes, performance states being ’switched on and off’ like a light, language patterns that can be used in any context to influence others and many more powerful examples!
Do you also offer business consultancy?
Yes, here at The Brain People we are perfectly able to assist businesses achieve its goals. This is due to the simple fact that every single business relies on people performing at an optimal level. Imagine what would be possible if you could influence your team’s beliefs, state, behaviour and effectiveness to communicate with their peers or customers.
I have heard you train ‘differently’, please explain?
Yes, we install all of the key learning on both a conscious and unconscious level (we explain how this is done in depth during our NLP Practitioner course). We base our training methodology around elicitation of experience; this means that we do not preach at you whilst scanning 400 power point slides. We much prefer it when you stay awake.
Is accommodation included in the price?
Considering our courses follow a modular format over a number of weekends, you would only require accommodation on a Saturday night if travelling from far away. We removed accommodation to lower our price when we realised many students simply commute from home. There are plently of hotels within central London.
Are there different ’schools of thought’ in NLP?
Yes there are indeed, the two co-creators of NLP established their own “stamp of approval” on teaching standards and content. We are associated with the ITA (jointly established by Dr.Grinder) and there is also the SNLP (Dr.Bandler’s). It is not possible to represent both schools, however all of our team have an broad understanding of various NLP developments. Some of our team are also certified by the SNLP.
Your trainers are not famous, are they any good?
Ok, so maybe we have never been asked this question (as it is almost a little bit too rude), but we do believe that some people out there may be thinking it because of all the hype that surrounds some NLP and Hypnosis “Celebs”. We know you will be blown away with what we have to offer, come and see why people recommend us ! Anyway, with the money it takes to market huge events (in order for us to create a ‘celeb’ appearance) we would have to double our prices, and that’s not nice.
Can you give me business advice?
All of our Trainers have created their own successful training or consultancy businesses outside of The Brain People. You are making a considerable investment in time and money, we will help you create business models which will soon pay back your initial outgoings.
Why don’t I just read a book about NLP?
Great idea, we have read thousands of books between us on a whole range of topics including NLP. Books are fantastic yet NLP is also about attitude, experience, capability and unconscious competence. Would you get onboard an airplane and trust a pilot that had read the Boeing manual inside out but used your flight as his first lesson?
